4 Aarraigned for stealing MTNNG Bus

Two security guards and two suspected
thieves have been arraigned before the
Yaba Magistrate's court for allegedly
stealing a N13m Toyota Coaster bus
belonging to popular telecommunication
company, MTN.

The theft was said to have been made
possible with the connivance of security
guards working with Halogen Security,
because they "failed to use all reasonable
means to prevent the commission or
completion of a felony."
The suspects were arraigned on four
counts of felony and stealing.

According to the police, the suspects -
Emmanuel Abakpa, 42, Adegboye
Rotimi,36, Igoche Bernard, 27, Olusanya
Samuel, 32 - on February 1, 2013 at MTN/
GOP Car park Falomo-Ikoyi, Lagos, in the
Lagos Magisterial District conspired to
commit felony to wit: stealing a Toyota
Coaster bus with number plate KRD 738AU.

The offence was said to be contrary to
section 409 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos
State Nigeria, 2011.
The defendants pleaded not guilty to the
charges.

The magistrate, Mr. P.A Ojo, granted bail to
the defendants upon the payment of
N500,000 with two sureties each in like
sum.
The matter was adjourned till September 3.
